Keeping the major wartime events in the background, the exhibition aims to tell the story of the Trentino experience during the conflict: the battle fronts with the Italian army, the difficult choices after the armistice of 1943, the war at home lived under the threat of bombing and Nazi control of the region.

In recent years, Fondazione Museo Storico del Trentino has started a census to name the approximately 40,000 Trentino soldiers who took part in the conflict. Since the start of this project, our archives have been enriched with new photographic and autobiographical documents when many people decided to donate the materials that belonged to their relatives. The exhibition is a first restitution of this important collected heritage and represents a tool that accompanies us on the 80th anniversary of World War II.
